You’re a New Christian: What Now?

Romans 10:9-10 …because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

You’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior. That’s incredible! Congratulations! So, what are the next steps? What should you expect in the near future?

There are many ways to grow your faith, but the first and foremost is being in God’s word. The Bible is the word of God (See 2 Timothy 3:16-17), given to us to fulfill all our needs.

Why is God Making Me Wait?

Micah 7:7  But as for me, I will look to the Lord;  I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

We’ve all been there.  We’ve been waiting, waiting, waiting for God to hear us, to give us some sort of sign or guidance.  Maybe you’re going through this right now.  This has to be one of the most difficult things for me as a Christian.  I think this is mostly because of how incredibly close I feel to God when I do get an answer right away.  When I don’t get an answer, I start to feel forgotten or rejected.  Have you felt this separation and perhaps even frustration?

Spring: The Season of Hope


Song of Solomon 2:11-12  For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.

I just love the spring. Birds are chirping, squirrels are frolicking, the grass is starting to green, flowers are starting to come up from the ground, and colors are coming back to the earth.  This is such a beautiful reminder from the Father of our new life in Him. After such a dark period with no leaves on the trees and dead grass, there is now hope for what we know is coming. Flowers, colorful birds, bright green leaves, and new life all around us.
